Inspired by the joys of her childhood, books like Goosebumps and Animorphs, Polly Pocket and butterfly clips, Internet 1.0 and Tamagotchi, Bo Barra seeks to recapture the wonder of childhood and find light in the darkness.

Each piece is handcrafted using rare vintage glass beads, sourced mainly from occupied Japan in the 1940s-1950s. The beads were handcrafted for export to the USA by glassmakers who were rice farmers by day and glass artisans by night.

Using these coveted beads, the designer enjoys transforming the weird and wacky imagery of the '90s into objects of beauty and whimsy.

Beads like these can't be found anywhere else.
